You must enter Bank Accounts in the correct way to suit your banking software:

Bank accounts are either a 16 or 18 digit number and there is an input mask on the bank account number field to help you enter these correctly. Just key in the numbers and the input mask will split them up into four fields as below:

BANK   BRANCH   ACCOUNT   SUFFIX
2    4       7       6

There are two formats used by banks in New Zealand, examples below:

ASB, BNZ, National, ANZ - use the short version
BANK   BRANCH   ACCOUNT   SUFFIX
2    4       7       3

When entered into the bank account field correctly the bank account should look like this
12_3146_0097128_000___

Westpac, TSB - use the long version
BANK   BRANCH   ACCOUNT   SUFFIX
2    4       8       4

When entered into the bank account field correctly the bank account should look like this
12_3146_0009712_800000
