From the other menu select 'Letter Writing'. We have created a very basic system to allow you to write database linked letters within the Golf Manager in much to same way as you would using Mail Merge in Microsoft Word. We cannot have a text toolbar therefore the formatting is very basic but you may find it useful anyway.
From the Membership Menu or the Other Menu, select "Letter Writing"
Click on Insert and type the name of your standard letter format into the name field and Save.
Click on Edit and type your letter adding the database fields required then Save, e.g.
Body_Prefix = Mr J.
Body_First_Names = John
Body_Name = Smith
Body_Address1 = Postal Delivery Address
(2,3 & 4 are the other lines)
Letters can be printed from the Members Detail Search button or from the Reports Menu, Mailing List/Labels/Letters.
Select or Search for the category/selection you wish to send a letter to. Then click on Print Letters and select the letter format to use from the list that pops up. This will automatically merge with the members names etc and produce a printout of personalised letters.
Letter Writing Extra Commands
Letter writing is capable of more than it appears to do - extras for experts.
If you select a field then change as follows:-
Capitals [cap(field_name)] eg. [cap(BODY_NAME)]
Upper case [upp(field_name)]
Lower case [low(field_name)]
Or type the following:-
Today's date [#D]
Page Number [#P]
Time [#T]
Example:-
[upp(BODY_PREFIX)] [cap(BODY_NAME)]
